The Bottle Challenge

The Bottle Challenge

How to participate:

  1. Recruit your friends (or go solo!): You can choose to take on this challenge individually, or they can team up with siblings, friends, or family members to form a "Bottle Brigade." Working together can make it more fun and help you collect more!

  1. The Great Bottle Hunt:
    • At Home: Start by collecting all the refundable bottles and cans from around their own house.
    • Neighborly Nods: With a parent's permission (if you are under 18), ask friendly neighbors if they have any refundable bottles or cans that your or your brigade could collect. Make sure to be polite and thank them!

  1. Sort, Count, and Organize:
    • Once collected, sort the bottles and cans by type (e.g., plastic, glass, aluminum) if their local recycling center requires it.
    • Then, the important part: counting how many you have collected! This helps you understand how your efforts add up.

  1. Redeem for Good: Take your sorted bottles and cans to a local bottle redemption center, grocery store, or recycling facility that gives money back for deposits. You'll collect your hard-earned tzedakah money!

  1. Choose Your Cause: This is where the real tzedakah lesson comes in! Individually or as a brigade, sit down and decide what kind of good you want to do with the money. Then Make the Donation!

  1. Share Your Success Story: Take pictures with your collected bottles before redemption, or with the receipt from your donation. You can share:
    • How many bottles they collected.
    • How much money they earned.
    • Which charity they chose and why.
    • How it felt to work hard and give to others.
    • Share your story with us at Tzedakah.life
