Terms of Service

Terms of Service

Effective Date: August 18, 2026
Last Updated: August 18, 2026

Welcome to Tzedakah.Life.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Tzedakah.Life website, memberships, courses, webinars, educational resources, downloadable materials, digital tools, artificial-intelligence services, and other products or services we make available.

By accessing or using Tzedakah.Life, creating an account, purchasing a membership or course, registering for a webinar, downloading materials, using the Tzedakah.Life GPT, or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms.

Please read them carefully.

1. ABOUT TZEDAKAH.LIFE

Tzedakah.Life is a project of Colel Chabad. Colel Chabad is a U.S. 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, EIN 11-3254483, and its charitable activities in Israel are recognized for eligible donations under Section 46 of the Israeli Income Tax Ordinance.

Throughout these Terms, “Tzedakah.Life,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Tzedakah.Life and Chessed Menachem Mendel, as applicable.

Tzedakah.Life exists to help individuals, families, educators, schools, synagogues, and communities understand, practice, and teach the mitzvah of tzedakah.

2. ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS

By using Tzedakah.Life, you confirm that:

  • You have read and understood these Terms;

  • You agree to comply with them;

  • You are legally capable of entering into this agreement; and

  • If you are using Tzedakah.Life on behalf of an organization, you have authority to bind that organization where applicable.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use services that require your acceptance of them.

3. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, business practices, technology, or legal obligations.

When we update the Terms, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above.

Changes will generally apply prospectively.

Material changes will not retroactively alter the fundamental terms of a purchase you have already completed unless required by law or expressly agreed to by you.

Continued use of Tzedakah.Life after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.

4. ELIGIBILITY AND MINORS

Tzedakah.Life contains educational material designed for adults, families, educators, and children.

Children may use appropriate educational resources with suitable parental, guardian, teacher, or institutional supervision.

However:

Purchases, paid memberships, paid course registrations, and other financial transactions must be completed by a person who is at least 18 years old or by an authorized adult acting for a minor.

Minors should not independently submit payment information, create paid accounts, or provide unnecessary personal information.

Use of third-party platforms, including ChatGPT, is also subject to the age requirements and terms imposed by those platforms.

5. USER ACCOUNTS

Certain services may require you to create an account.

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and current information;

  • Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials;

  • Keep your account information reasonably up to date;

  • Notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization; and

  • Accept responsibility for activity conducted through your account to the extent permitted by law.

You may not impersonate another person or create an account using information you are not authorized to use.

6. INDIVIDUAL ACCOUNTS AND ACCOUNT SHARING

Unless we expressly offer a family, school, synagogue, institutional, or organizational license, a paid Tzedakah.Life account is an individual account.

Login credentials may not be:

  • Shared publicly;

  • Distributed to groups;

  • Posted in a classroom, staff directory, online forum, or shared drive;

  • Used simultaneously by multiple unrelated individuals; or

  • Sold, transferred, or sublicensed.

An individual subscriber may use materials within their household as reasonably intended.

Schools, synagogues, organizations, or other institutions wishing to provide access to multiple users may be required to obtain an appropriate institutional license or separate accounts where such options are offered.

7. PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP

Tzedakah.Life may offer a paid Premium membership providing access to additional content, features, educational resources, courses, discounts, or other benefits described at the time of purchase.

The particular benefits included with Premium may change over time.

We may add, modify, replace, or discontinue particular features, provided that we do not materially deprive a subscriber of the essential paid service during an already-paid subscription period without an appropriate remedy where required.

8. ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION AND AUTOMATIC RENEWAL

Tzedakah.Life Premium is offered as an annual subscription, unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase.

Automatic Renewal

Unless you cancel before the applicable renewal date, your Premium subscription will automatically renew for another annual term, and the payment method associated with your account may be charged the then-applicable subscription price.

By purchasing an automatically renewing subscription, you authorize us and our payment provider to process applicable renewal charges.

Where required by law, we will provide notices or disclosures concerning renewal before charging you.

9. CANCELLING PREMIUM

You may cancel an automatically renewing Premium subscription at any time.

Cancellation prevents the next renewal.

Unless otherwise required by applicable law:

Cancellation does not result in a prorated refund for the unused portion of the current annual subscription period.

Your Premium access will ordinarily continue until the expiration of the subscription period for which you have already paid.

After that date, your account may revert to the free level of service, if available.

Nothing in this section limits any cancellation or refund right that cannot legally be waived under applicable consumer-protection law.

10. PRICING

Prices for memberships, courses, webinars, programs, products, and other services will be displayed at or before purchase.

Tzedakah.Life reserves the right to change its prices prospectively.

A price change will not alter the price of a completed one-time purchase.

For recurring subscriptions, a new price may apply beginning with a future renewal period.

Where required by applicable law, subscribers will receive appropriate notice of changes affecting future renewal charges.

11. PAYMENT PROCESSING

Payments may be processed by one or more independent third-party payment processors.

The specific payment provider may change.

By making a purchase, you authorize the applicable payment provider to process the information necessary to complete the transaction.

The payment provider's own terms and privacy policy may also apply.

Tzedakah.Life does not necessarily receive or independently store complete credit-card or other payment credentials.

You are responsible for providing valid payment information and for charges legitimately incurred through your account.

12. COURSES

Tzedakah.Life may offer paid and free online courses.

Unless the purchase page expressly states otherwise:

A purchased course provides access for 360 days from the date access is activated or made available to the purchaser.

After the 360-day access period expires, access may end automatically.

Purchasing a course does not constitute a promise of permanent, perpetual, or “lifetime” access.

We recommend completing and reviewing course materials within the access period.

13. COURSE CHANGES

We may reasonably update courses to:

  • Correct errors;

  • Improve educational content;

  • Update sources;

  • Replace outdated material;

  • Improve technology or presentation; or

  • Make other pedagogical improvements.

Course structure, presenters, supporting materials, or individual components may therefore change from time to time.

Such reasonable changes do not ordinarily constitute cancellation of the course.

14. WEBINARS

Tzedakah.Life may offer free or paid webinars.

Unless otherwise stated on the registration page, a paid webinar includes:

Live access to the webinar and access to a recording after the webinar.

Availability of a recording may depend on successful recording and processing of the event.

A participant who voluntarily misses the live presentation will not ordinarily be entitled to a refund solely because they did not attend, provided the webinar and promised access were otherwise supplied.

15. RECORDINGS AND PARTICIPANT APPEARANCES

Tzedakah.Life webinars may be recorded.

Where appropriate, participants will be informed that recording is taking place.

Depending on the webinar platform and participant choices, a participant's:

  • Name;

  • Profile image;

  • Voice;

  • Video;

  • Chat message;

  • Question; or

  • Other participation

could potentially appear in the recording.

Participants who do not wish to appear should use available privacy controls, such as keeping their camera and microphone disabled and submitting questions privately where the platform permits.

We may edit recordings before publication.

16. REFUNDS

Except where these Terms expressly provide otherwise or where applicable law requires otherwise:

Purchases of digital products, Premium memberships, courses, webinars, and other digital access are final once access or digital content has been provided.

Cancelling an annual Premium subscription does not ordinarily create a prorated refund for the current subscription period.

A missed webinar does not ordinarily create a refund right if the webinar occurred as scheduled and the promised recording or other access was provided.

Mandatory Consumer Rights

Nothing in these Terms is intended to eliminate or restrict any refund, cancellation, withdrawal, or other consumer right that cannot legally be waived.

Where mandatory law provides greater rights than these Terms, the mandatory law will control.

17. IF TZEDAKAH.LIFE CANCELS A PAID PROGRAM

If Tzedakah.Life cancels a paid course, webinar, or other scheduled paid program before providing the purchased service and does not provide a substantially equivalent replacement:

The purchaser will receive a full refund of the amount paid for that cancelled program.

We may offer an alternative course, webinar, rescheduled date, or account credit, but a purchaser will not be required to accept a credit instead of a refund where we have cancelled the underlying paid service.

18. TECHNICAL INTERRUPTIONS

We work to keep Tzedakah.Life available and functioning reliably.

However, websites and online services occasionally experience:

  • Maintenance;

  • Internet outages;

  • Hosting problems;

  • Software errors;

  • Cybersecurity events;

  • Third-party service failures;

  • Platform outages; or

  • Other technical interruptions.

We therefore cannot promise that every service will be available continuously or without interruption.

A temporary interruption does not ordinarily entitle a user to financial compensation or a refund.

If a significant outage materially prevents us from providing a paid service, we may extend access, reschedule the service, provide another appropriate remedy, or issue a refund where appropriate or required by law.

19. EDUCATIONAL PURPOSE

Tzedakah.Life is primarily an educational platform.

Our articles, lessons, courses, webinars, FAQs, source sheets, workshops, newsletters, GPT tools, downloadable resources, calculators, and other materials are intended to provide general educational and informational content.

They are not intended as individualized professional advice.

20. HALACHIC DISCLAIMER

Tzedakah.Life frequently discusses Torah sources, Jewish law, tzedakah, ma'aser kesafim, charitable priorities, Jewish practice, and related topics.

Such material is provided for study, education, discussion, and research.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise:

Tzedakah.Life content does not constitute a personal psak halacha or individualized rabbinic ruling.

Halachic questions may depend on personal circumstances, community practice, differing authorities, and facts that cannot be fully addressed in general educational material.

Users should consult their own competent rabbinic authority when a practical halachic ruling is required.

21. NO PROFESSIONAL ADVICE

Nothing on Tzedakah.Life constitutes individualized:

  • Legal advice;

  • Tax advice;

  • Financial or investment advice;

  • Accounting advice;

  • Medical advice; or

  • Other regulated professional advice.

References to taxes, charitable deductions, financial planning, charitable structures, or similar subjects are educational unless expressly provided by an appropriately qualified professional in an identified professional capacity.

You should consult an appropriate professional regarding your particular circumstances.

22. THE TZEDAKAH.LIFE GPT

Tzedakah.Life may make available a customized artificial-intelligence tool known as the Tzedakah.Life GPT.

The GPT is intended as an educational and research assistant for questions involving tzedakah and related Jewish sources.

AI Can Make Mistakes

Artificial-intelligence systems can:

  • Produce inaccurate information;

  • Misunderstand a question;

  • Misquote or misattribute a source;

  • Omit relevant information;

  • Generate outdated information; or

  • Produce confident-sounding responses that are incorrect.

Users should independently verify important information.

Not Psak

The Tzedakah.Life GPT is not a rabbinic authority and does not provide binding halachic rulings.

Not Professional Advice

GPT output does not constitute legal, financial, tax, medical, accounting, or other professional advice.

Third-Party Platform

The GPT operates using technology and services supplied by OpenAI.

Its functionality may therefore depend upon:

  • OpenAI's services;

  • OpenAI account requirements;

  • Platform availability;

  • OpenAI's policies;

  • Model availability; and

  • Technical changes made by OpenAI.

We cannot guarantee continued availability of any particular OpenAI model or ChatGPT feature.

Use of ChatGPT is also subject to OpenAI's applicable terms and policies.

23. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Except where otherwise stated, original Tzedakah.Life materials—including original:

  • Articles;

  • Lesson plans;

  • Curriculum;

  • Course material;

  • Videos;

  • Graphics;

  • Photographs;

  • Designs;

  • Worksheets;

  • Downloads;

  • Games;

  • Activities;

  • Website design;

  • Branding;

  • Logos; and

  • Other original content

are owned by or licensed to Tzedakah.Life and/or Chessed Menachem Mendel and are protected by applicable intellectual-property law.

24. TORAH TEXTS AND THIRD-PARTY MATERIAL

Tzedakah.Life does not claim ownership of material simply because it appears on our website.

This includes, where applicable:

  • Biblical texts;

  • Talmudic texts;

  • Rabbinic texts;

  • Classical Jewish works;

  • Quotations;

  • Public-domain material;

  • Third-party translations;

  • Sefaria content;

  • Photographs belonging to third parties;

  • Videos belonging to third parties; and

  • Other licensed or externally sourced material.

Rights in such material remain with their respective authors, publishers, licensors, rights holders, or the public domain, as applicable.

Use of third-party material may also be subject to separate licensing terms.

25. PERMITTED EDUCATIONAL USE

Tzedakah.Life wants its educational resources to be used.

Unless a particular resource states otherwise, educators, parents, schools, synagogues, youth groups, and other nonprofit educational settings may print or reproduce a reasonable number of copies of freely available Tzedakah.Life educational materials for their own noncommercial educational use.

This permission includes reasonable classroom, family, synagogue, or educational-program use.

Where practical, Tzedakah.Life branding and attribution should remain intact.

26. RESTRICTIONS ON CONTENT USE

Without our prior written permission, you may not:

  • Sell or resell Tzedakah.Life materials;

  • Republish substantial portions of our content as your own;

  • Upload paid or Premium materials to publicly accessible websites;

  • Place Premium materials into public file-sharing repositories;

  • Mass-distribute downloadable resources beyond reasonable permitted educational use;

  • Remove copyright notices or branding for the purpose of presenting material as your own;

  • Create a competing commercial product substantially derived from Tzedakah.Life proprietary materials;

  • Scrape or systematically extract substantial portions of the website;

  • Use automated systems to build an unauthorized database of our proprietary content; or

  • Circumvent technological restrictions on paid content.

Reasonable quotations, links, reviews, commentary, scholarship, and other uses permitted by applicable law remain unaffected.

27. PREMIUM CONTENT

Premium and paid materials are licensed for the purchaser's authorized use during the applicable access period.

Purchasing access does not transfer copyright ownership to the purchaser.

Premium material may not be publicly posted, redistributed, resold, or shared with unauthorized users.

28. USER COMMENTS AND SUBMISSIONS

Tzedakah.Life may permit users to submit:

  • Comments;

  • Questions;

  • Feedback;

  • Suggestions;

  • Testimonials;

  • Educational ideas; or

  • Other contributions.

You retain whatever ownership rights you legally hold in material you submit.

However, by intentionally submitting content for publication or use through Tzedakah.Life, you grant us a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, format, moderate, and otherwise use the submission as reasonably necessary to operate, promote, administer, or improve the relevant Tzedakah.Life service.

This license does not transfer ownership of your original work to us.

29. RESPONSIBILITY FOR USER SUBMISSIONS

You may submit only material that you have the right to submit.

You agree not to submit material that:

  • Infringes another person's copyright or intellectual-property rights;

  • Violates privacy rights;

  • Contains confidential information you are not authorized to disclose;

  • Is fraudulent or intentionally misleading;

  • Contains unlawful threats or harassment;

  • Contains malicious code;

  • Is obscene or otherwise inappropriate for our educational community; or

  • Violates applicable law.

We reserve the right to moderate, decline, edit for technical reasons, hide, or remove submissions.

30. PROHIBITED CONDUCT

You may not use Tzedakah.Life to:

  • Violate applicable law;

  • Commit fraud;

  • Attempt unauthorized access to accounts or systems;

  • Interfere with site security;

  • Introduce malware or malicious code;

  • Scrape or harvest information without authorization;

  • Circumvent access controls or payment systems;

  • Share paid account credentials contrary to these Terms;

  • Harass or threaten others;

  • Impersonate another person;

  • Misrepresent your affiliation with Tzedakah.Life or Colel Chabad;

  • Redistribute protected Premium content without authorization; or

  • Use the website in a manner that materially interferes with others' use of the service.

31. SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to Tzedakah.Life where reasonably necessary because of:

  • Fraud;

  • Chargebacks or unresolved payment issues;

  • Material violation of these Terms;

  • Unauthorized account sharing;

  • Unauthorized redistribution of paid material;

  • Scraping or systematic content extraction;

  • Security threats;

  • Abuse or harassment;

  • Illegal activity; or

  • Other serious misuse of the service.

Where practical and appropriate, we may first provide notice or an opportunity to correct a violation.

Serious security, fraud, or abuse concerns may require immediate action.

Termination for a material violation of these Terms does not necessarily entitle the user to a refund, subject to mandatory rights under applicable law.

32. EXTERNAL WEBSITES AND THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Tzedakah.Life may link to:

  • Sefaria;

  • Charitable organizations;

  • Donation platforms;

  • Videos;

  • Academic resources;

  • Social-media platforms;

  • Payment providers;

  • Webinar services;

  • Artificial-intelligence platforms; and

  • Other third-party websites.

A link does not necessarily constitute an endorsement, guarantee, or warranty regarding the third party.

We do not control independent websites and cannot guarantee their:

  • Accuracy;

  • Availability;

  • Security;

  • Privacy practices;

  • Financial condition;

  • Reliability; or

  • Continued operation.

Use of an external service is subject to that provider's terms and policies.

33. CHARITIES AND TZEDAKAH RECOMMENDATIONS

Tzedakah.Life may discuss, feature, list, recommend, or link to charitable organizations and causes.

We may also provide educational guidance concerning how people might evaluate or prioritize tzedakah opportunities.

Such inclusion does not constitute a guarantee regarding an organization's:

  • Current financial position;

  • Management;

  • Tax status;

  • Regulatory status;

  • Program effectiveness;

  • Current operations;

  • Use of funds; or

  • Suitability for a particular donor.

Information about charitable organizations can change.

Donors remain responsible for making their own giving decisions and should perform whatever independent investigation they consider appropriate.

34. DONATIONS

Some Tzedakah.Life pages may link to opportunities to support Colel Chabad, Chessed Menachem Mendel, Pantry Packers, or other charitable initiatives.

A charitable donation is different from purchasing a Tzedakah.Life Premium subscription, course, or webinar.

Where a donation is processed through an external donation platform or another charitable entity, the applicable donation terms and cancellation policies may differ from these Terms.

35. NO GUARANTEED RESULTS

We hope Tzedakah.Life inspires meaningful learning and giving.

However, we cannot guarantee that use of our:

  • Courses;

  • Lessons;

  • Workshops;

  • Articles;

  • Membership;

  • GPT;

  • Educational tools; or

  • Other services

will produce any particular educational, religious, fundraising, professional, financial, charitable, organizational, or personal result.

Results depend on circumstances beyond our control.

36. ACCURACY OF INFORMATION

We make reasonable efforts to provide useful and accurate information.

Nevertheless, material may occasionally contain:

  • Typographical errors;

  • Outdated information;

  • Broken links;

  • Translation errors;

  • Source errors; or

  • Other inaccuracies.

We may correct or update content at any time.

Users should independently confirm information where accuracy is important.

37. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Tzedakah.Life and its services are provided on an “as available” and “as is” basis.

We do not guarantee that:

  • The website will always be uninterrupted;

  • Every feature will remain permanently available;

  • All information will be error-free;

  • Every third-party link will remain active;

  • Every technological platform will function without interruption; or

  • Every educational resource will be appropriate for every individual or circumstance.

Nothing in this section excludes warranties or consumer protections that cannot lawfully be excluded.

38. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Tzedakah.Life, Chessed Menachem Mendel, Colel Chabad, and their officers, employees, representatives, volunteers, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising from use of or inability to use Tzedakah.Life.

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, any limitation will apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where exclusion would be prohibited by law.

39. INDEMNIFICATION

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tzedakah.Life and Chessed Menachem Mendel from claims, losses, liabilities, or reasonable expenses arising from your:

  • Material violation of these Terms;

  • Unlawful use of the service;

  • Infringement of another person's rights; or

  • Unauthorized distribution of protected Tzedakah.Life content.

This provision does not apply where prohibited by applicable consumer law.

40. PRIVACY

Use of Tzedakah.Life is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy explains how personal information may be collected, used, stored, and shared through the website, memberships, communications, physical-product requests, and the Tzedakah.Life GPT.

The Privacy Policy should be read together with these Terms.

41. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer-protection or other laws provide otherwise.

42. JURISDICTION

Subject to any mandatory rights that apply under applicable law, disputes arising from these Terms or the use of Tzedakah.Life will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in Israel.

Nothing in this section deprives a consumer of a right to bring proceedings elsewhere where such a right cannot legally be waived.

43. SEVERABILITY

If any provision of these Terms is found unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that provision will be interpreted or limited to the minimum extent necessary.

The remaining provisions will continue in effect.

44. NO WAIVER

If we do not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, that does not mean we have waived the right to enforce it later.

A waiver on one occasion does not automatically constitute a waiver on another occasion.

45. ENTIRE AGREEMENT

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any specific terms displayed at the time of purchasing or registering for a particular service, constitute the agreement governing your use of Tzedakah.Life.

Where specific purchase terms conflict with these general Terms, the more specific terms will govern the particular purchase, subject to applicable law.
