Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 18, 2026

Tzedakah.Life respects your privacy and is committed to handling personal information responsibly and transparently.

This Privacy Policy explains how information may be collected, used, stored, and shared when you visit Tzedakah.Life, create an account, subscribe to communications, participate in courses or other programs, request materials, post comments, use our digital tools, interact with the Tzedakah.Life GPT, or otherwise communicate with us.

Tzedakah.Life is a public educational service associated with Colel Chabad. Throughout this policy, “Tzedakah.Life,” “we,” “our,” and “us” refer to Tzedakah.Life and those operating services on its behalf.

1. Our Approach to Privacy

Tzedakah.Life exists to help people understand, practice, and teach Jewish giving. We believe that respect for people includes respect for their personal information.

Our basic principles are simple:

  • We collect information when it is reasonably necessary to provide or improve our services.

  • We do not intentionally collect more personal information than we need.

  • We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration.

  • We use trusted service providers when necessary to operate the website and its services.

  • We encourage users not to submit sensitive or confidential information unless it is genuinely necessary.

  • We aim to give users reasonable choices regarding the information they provide and communications they receive.

TZEDAKAH.LIFE GPT AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

11. The Tzedakah.Life GPT

Tzedakah.Life may provide a customized artificial-intelligence tool known as the Tzedakah.Life GPT.

The GPT is designed as an educational and research tool related to tzedakah, Jewish texts, Jewish giving, and related subjects.

The GPT operates through the OpenAI/ChatGPT platform and therefore involves data processing by OpenAI.

12. Information You Submit to the GPT

When interacting with the Tzedakah.Life GPT, you may voluntarily provide:

  • Questions

  • Prompts

  • Messages

  • Research requests

  • Text entered into a conversation

  • Follow-up questions

  • Feedback

  • Files or other material where the platform permits them

Please do not submit sensitive information.

In particular, we recommend that users do not provide sensitive personal, financial, medical, legal, confidential, proprietary, or otherwise private information when using the Tzedakah.Life GPT unless there is a compelling reason to do so and the user understands how the relevant platform handles that information.

13. Who Can See GPT Conversations?

Tzedakah.Life does not receive access to individual users' private ChatGPT conversation histories merely because we created or published the Tzedakah.Life GPT.

OpenAI controls the ChatGPT platform and determines how conversations are stored, processed, retained, reviewed, or used according to the user's account type, settings, OpenAI's policies, and applicable law.

For consumer ChatGPT accounts, users may have controls affecting whether their conversations are used to improve OpenAI's models.

Users should review their ChatGPT Data Controls and OpenAI's current privacy information for details.

14. GPT Research Sources, Actions, and Third-Party Services

The Tzedakah.Life GPT may use approved information sources, research tools, APIs, actions, or other integrations to help respond to a request.

Where use of a particular integration requires information from a user's request to be transmitted to another service, that information may be processed by the provider of that service under its own privacy policy and terms.

Tzedakah.Life seeks to configure its GPT around appropriate research and educational uses, but users should understand that OpenAI and any external service actually used in processing a request operate under their own policies.

Tzedakah.Life does not control the independent privacy practices of those providers.

15. Tzedakah.Life Does Not Build GPT User Profiles

Tzedakah.Life does not intentionally use the GPT to independently create or maintain personal profiles of individual GPT users.

Any platform-level retention, account history, memory, model-improvement use, or similar functionality made available by ChatGPT is controlled by OpenAI and the user's applicable settings rather than by Tzedakah.Life.

16. AI Accuracy and Educational Disclaimer

Artificial intelligence can make mistakes.

Information produced by the Tzedakah.Life GPT is provided for educational, informational, and research purposes and should be reviewed critically.

GPT-generated content:

  • Does not constitute legal advice

  • Does not constitute financial or tax advice

  • Does not constitute medical or other professional advice

  • Does not constitute a binding halachic ruling or rabbinic decision

  • Should not substitute for consultation with an appropriate rabbinic authority or qualified professional when such guidance is required

Opinions, interpretations, or information generated by an AI system do not necessarily reflect the views of Tzedakah.Life, Colel Chabad, or any affiliated organization.

THIRD PARTIES

17. Service Providers

Tzedakah.Life may use outside companies and service providers to help operate our services.

Depending on the feature being used, these providers may include companies that provide:

  • Email distribution

  • Analytics

  • Payment processing

  • Video hosting

  • Webinar or event technology

  • Shipping and fulfillment

  • Customer support

  • Security and fraud prevention

  • Artificial intelligence and research services

We may provide these service providers with information reasonably necessary for them to perform their services.

Their use of information is also subject to their respective agreements and privacy practices.

18. Links to Other Websites and Organizations

Tzedakah.Life contains links to third-party websites, charitable organizations, educational sources, videos, payment services, social-media platforms, and other external resources.

When you leave Tzedakah.Life or interact directly with another service, that organization's privacy policy applies.

Tzedakah.Life is not responsible for the privacy practices, security, content, or operation of an independently operated third-party website or service.

We encourage users to review the privacy practices of websites to which they provide personal information.

19. Donations and External Giving Platforms

Tzedakah.Life may provide educational information about charitable giving or links through which users can support Colel Chabad or other charitable organizations.

Where a donation is completed through another organization or payment platform, information submitted during that transaction may be collected and processed directly by that organization or payment provider.

The recipient organization's or provider's privacy policy will govern its handling of donor and payment information.

Tzedakah.Life should not be assumed to receive all information submitted through a third-party donation service.

WHEN INFORMATION MAY BE SHARED

20. Disclosure of Information

We may disclose personal information:

  • To service providers performing services on our behalf

  • To fulfill something you have requested

  • With your direction or consent

  • When reasonably necessary to process a transaction

  • To comply with applicable law, court process, or lawful governmental request

  • To investigate fraud, misuse, security incidents, or violations of applicable rules

  • To protect the rights, property, security, or safety of Tzedakah.Life, its users, Colel Chabad, or others

  • As part of a reorganization or transfer of the operation of the service, subject to appropriate protections

We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration.

DATA RETENTION AND SECURITY

21. How Long We Keep Information

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to:

  • Provide requested services

  • Maintain an active account

  • Fulfill orders or requests

  • Maintain necessary transaction and accounting records

  • Respond to inquiries

  • Maintain security

  • Resolve disputes

  • Meet legal or regulatory obligations

Different categories of information may have different retention periods.

When personal information is no longer reasonably necessary, we may delete it, anonymize it, or securely retain it where continued retention is required or permitted.

Information controlled directly by third-party providers, including OpenAI, payment providers, email providers, or authentication services, is retained according to their policies.

22. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, misuse, alteration, loss, or disclosure.

However, no website, database, email system, or Internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Users should therefore exercise reasonable care regarding the information they transmit online.

If you believe information associated with Tzedakah.Life has been compromised, please contact us promptly.

CHILDREN AND FAMILIES

23. Children's Privacy

Tzedakah.Life includes stories, games, educational resources, activities, and other material intended to help families and educators teach children about tzedakah.

The presence of children's educational content does not mean that children should independently provide personal information to Tzedakah.Life.

Where personal information, account registration, purchases, shipping information, or other identifying information is required, children should use those services with the involvement and permission of a parent, legal guardian, teacher, school, or other responsible adult as appropriate.

The Tzedakah.Life GPT is intended to be used by minors only with appropriate parental, educational, or institutional supervision and subject to the age requirements of the platform on which it operates.

If you believe a child has submitted personal information inappropriately, please contact us so that we can review the matter.

YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS

24. Your Information

Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights regarding your personal information, which may include the ability to:

  • Ask whether we hold personal information about you

  • Request access to certain personal information

  • Request correction of inaccurate information

  • Request deletion of certain information

  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

  • Object to or restrict certain processing

  • Unsubscribe from marketing or newsletter communications

  • Request information regarding certain disclosures of personal information

Not every right applies in every jurisdiction or circumstance, and some information may need to be retained for legal, financial, security, or operational reasons.

To make a privacy-related request, contact us at:

info@tzedakah.life

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.

25. Email Choices

You may unsubscribe from newsletters and other nonessential email communications by using the unsubscribe link contained in the message.

We may still send service-related communications where necessary, such as account, transaction, registration, security, or administrative messages.

26. Cookies and Browser Choices

Most browsers allow users to block, restrict, or delete cookies.

Where Tzedakah.Life provides a cookie-consent or preference tool, you may also use that tool to manage applicable nonessential cookies.

Because browser-based “Do Not Track” mechanisms are not implemented consistently across the Internet, our response to those signals may vary depending on available technology and applicable legal requirements.

INTERNATIONAL USE

27. International Data Processing

Tzedakah.Life serves an international audience.

Information may therefore be processed or stored in countries different from the country in which you live, including through service providers that operate internationally.

Privacy and data-protection laws differ among jurisdictions.

Where required by applicable law, reasonable measures may be used to protect personal information when it is transferred internationally.

LEGAL BASES WHERE APPLICABLE

28. Basis for Processing Personal Information

Where applicable privacy law requires a specified legal basis for processing, Tzedakah.Life may process information on one or more of the following grounds:

  • Consent — when you voluntarily subscribe or otherwise agree to a particular use

  • Performance of a service or agreement — when processing is needed to provide something you requested

  • Legitimate interests — such as operating, securing, improving, and understanding the use of our services, where those interests are not overridden by applicable privacy rights

  • Legal obligations — when information must be processed or retained to comply with applicable law

POLICY CHANGES

29. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Tzedakah.Life may update this Privacy Policy periodically as our services, technology, or legal obligations change.

When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.

For significant changes, we may also provide additional notice when reasonably appropriate.

We encourage visitors to review this page periodically.
