How to pick a cause that’s worthy of your Tzedakah money
Our Sages taught us that the #1 priorities for Tzedakah are the needy in one’s local community, and the needy in the Land of Israel. Because there will always be those who need help getting fed, clothed and sheltered both nearby and in the Holy Land.
Hence it is critical to channel your Tzedakah money through an ethical organization with a proven track record for delivering the maximum percentage of your gift to those who are genuinely in need.
Pantry Packers and its parent organization Colel Chabad have been meeting the most rigorous standards for aiding Israel’s neediest since 1788. Hence, it makes sense to allow Colel Chabad to delivery your Tzedakah to those who need it most.
However, there are other worthy organization whose also do admirable work. You should feel free to choose one or more from among these as well.
